ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Amy! I’m a LEGO enthusiast whose journey began in the unexpected times of 2020. It all started with my then 4-year-old son during the pandemic lockdown. Oddly enough, LEGO wasn’t much of a part of my childhood, but from the moment I clicked my first two bricks together, I was hooked. The whole concept blew me away – the idea that you can take a bunch of little bricks and build anything you can dream up. It’s like magic, rearranging these tiny pieces until you create exactly what you envisioned.

One of my earliest and most memorable creations was a LEGO replica of Tipitina’s, a tribute to a place I sorely missed during the pandemic. Building it while listening to the iconic tunes of ‘Fess was a cathartic experience. When I shared it on Facebook, the overwhelming response was a pleasant surprise and a turning point for me.

Since then, my focus has been on capturing the essence of New Orleans – a city known for its vibrant culture, music, and festivities. My LEGO creations range from iconic restaurants and musicians to lively dance krewes and an array of colorful Mardi Gras floats. One of my proudest moments was having my rendition of the Rex King’s Float displayed in the Louisiana State Museum (the Presbytere) as part of the Rex 150th anniversary exhibit.

LEGO building for me is not just a hobby; it’s a way to celebrate and share the unique charm of New Orleans culture. Each creation is a piece of my heart, a playful yet profound expression of the city I love. Through my builds, I connect with fellow New Orleanians and LEGO enthusiasts, sharing stories and experiences that resonate with our shared love for this vibrant city.

Thank you for visiting my page, and I hope my creations bring as much joy to you as they do to me.
